Have a Plan: What feel and emotion do you want your Portrait? Where will you be using these images? Talking to your photographer before hand will help you get a clear game plan.
Dress Appropriately: You want to think about what clothing you would like every one to wear. You want to coordinate but you don’t have to all have same color on. I say its like buying throw pillows for your couch. Stay in the same color family and season. Steer away from bold patterns and stripes (these tend to take away attention from your faces). In adults long or 3/4 length sleeves are best. Wear colors that look best on you!
Pay attention to details: We sometimes over look small things. Depending on what you are having photographed you want to check your nails, eyebrows, darken your makeup just a tad if shooting head shots. Make sure your socks match your slacks. Choose clothing that looks flattering on you.
